Lockersphere - Camille Haines

A Philadelphia artist whose work incorporates glass, wood, concrete, steel, and other media has taken his next project to LM! Just before the old building was demolished, around 2010, Peter Trout Gard walked through the empty school and removed hundreds of lockers from the walls with the intention to use them in his next piece: A 7 ½ foot sphere.  It's complexity is mind-boggling with it's curved strips of bent heavy metal.  The locker doors serve as a “symbol that represents our varied but shared experiences,” says Gard.  The sphere is reminiscent of an old-school rubber band ball and it is resting in our Lower Atrium.  Take a minute to find this structure and appreciate its innovative craftsmanship and LMHS roots!
